![]() ![]() Test the TPS for correct voltage setting, ideally. solenoid, a quick test would be to warm up the engine and disconnect the IAC and see if the RPMS drop and if so you're good to go, another quick test would be to unbolt it leaving it connected and turning the key to RUN only see if there's any movement inside, you'll need an extra pair of hands. The IAC can be removed from the throttle body and clean the bottom valve part only making sure the TB cleaner is all evaporated before reconnecting or you'll fry the elec. Still can't get it warm enough to check codes and its not throwing any.ĭefinitely test your TFI module and replace it with a Motorcraft if need be BUT usually with TFI's the truck will warm up and run for a while then shut or stall with cranking and no immediate restart until it cools off then restart and possibly repeat process. Sooooooo:whiteflag I don't know where to start. I also swapped my coil out and no change still wouldn't start but noticed that I couldn't get a spark out of the wire either. So today I depressed the test valve on the fuel rail and gas comes spewing out both while trying to start it and while KOEO. After getting it started that one time it would fire again. The tach is also bouncing while the truck is off and key on run position. However one thing I noticed today was that my tach bounces all over the place but the engine speed doesn't really change. It cranked and ran long enough for me to move it about 20'. As I went to move it today for it to be towed to my buddies shop. I am going to check the Inertia switch again just to make sure but don't think that's the issue.Ĭlick to expand.Yes I did jump the pumps and I can hear the high pressure but can't really hear anything from the tank other then what sounds like fuel being poured into the tank but my ear has to literally be on the tank to hear it. So at this point I am thinking LP pump in tank is dead. I can hear the high pressure pump clearly but can't hear anything in the tank at all. So I went to my Haynes book and realized I didn't jump the fuel pumps to run with key on. ![]() In the past I have been able to screw the gauge in on the rail and get pressure immediately this time 0. ![]() Next I went to fuel pressure test on the rail. ![]() I cant get it to run long enough to do a KOER. The odd thing is the day before while running errands it ran great. SO I left it till the next morning same thing all over again. Tried again and it would just turn over but not start. So I tried restarting and it cranked idled for a minute then died again. (I always crank my truck and it idles to 1200rpm and I wait for it to drop to about 700-800 rpm usually about 30 seconds.) Before I was able to get out of the driveway the idle started bouncing and it died. Just like my title says I got in the Bronco to run errands the other day and it started like it always had (which is fired right up). Hey guys coming to you as I need some advice and don't want to start throwing parts at it. ![]()
